Wild Berry provides an attractive, environment and facilities in which guests are reassured that their needs will be met, all of which translates to excellent value for money.

The small, 3 star-rated Guest Farm is set in typically beautiful Midlands countryside, with a view of Giants Castle, about 7 km from Mooi River central along the Giants Castle Road, and 7 km from the turnoff to the N3.

An ideal base to discover the local attractions, explore the farm or enjoy a game of chess or have a quiet (romantic) break. A unique experience! Set in lovely established and extensive gardens.
Wild Berry is ideally positioned as a base from which to visit several Internationally Renowned attractions. These include the Drakensberg, which is a World Heritage site as well as the unique Lammergeyer Vulture hide, where you can see the extremely rare Bearded Vulture (Lammergeyer). You can also visit the Hlatikulu Crane Sanctuary, a rescue and breeding sanctuary for all three of the crane species found in Southern Africa. It should be noted that the Blue Crane is the national bird of South Africa.
In addition we are only a 20 min drive from the start of the Historic Battlefields along which many sites of the conflicts between Anglo-Boer, Anglo-Zulu and Boer-Zulu can be visited.

Here we take animals that for some reason or another have no other home and guests are welcome to pet and help us feed the animals.

The area is particularly rich in indigenous wild bird life, and we share the property with geese, small horses, cattle, donkeys, rabbits, and chickens – which keep child visitors enthralled.

We offer B&B accommodation with self-catering facilities on a small family run farm .

A lovely dinning room has been created for breakfast or teas. We have built a residents lounge and games room for all family members to enjoy and are now able to cater for weddings, private functions etc. (details on request)

We have extended the property, adding most of the cottages, a social center with TV, games and an honesty bar stocked with drinks and snacks and an Education/Conference venue where 20 delegates could be comfortably seated (though our maximum guest capacity is 14 – should all beds and bunks be taken in to account). A full English breakfast is available on request serving only the best locally produced products with home-made jams and marmalade.

Gymnogene –

A family, two bedroom cottage which sleeps 4-6

a Two bedroom family cottage, sleeping up to six, which has a kitchen and bathroom containing a separate bath and shower.

This cottage is suitable for families and persons traveling together.
Main bedroom contains double bed and dining table as well as sleeper couch(double)
Second room contains 2 single beds
Bathroom with bath and shower, towels.
Fully equipped kitchen, containing small fridge, stove, oven, kettle, toaster and washing-up facilities
Other facilities include cupboard, dressing tables, bedside tables, lamps, clock radio,TV as well as extra plugs.

Crane is also a two bedroom family cottage, sleeping up to four, which has a kitchen and bathroom containing a separate bath and shower.

With a double bed and bunk beds. It also has a full kitchen and a bathroom with a shower.

This cottage is ideal for a family with small children.

Fully equipped kitchen containing, fridge, toaster, kettle, stove, oven, stools and counter for dining and washing-up area.
Bathroom with shower, towels and soaps.
Shared verandah.
Other facilities include cupboard, dressing table, bedside tables with lamps, clock radio,TV as well as extra plug.

This cottage contains 2 single beds

Other facilities include cupboard, dressing tables, bedside tables, lamps, clock radio,TV as well as extra plugs.

All the cottages have TVs with SABC and E TV channels, Braai facilities, hairdryers, heaters and fans. Microwaves and cots are available upon request. Tea and coffee making facilities are included in every cottage.

Unpretentious yet well-appointed facilities provide wheelchair-friendly options, family room options, double rooms, and twin accommodation. All our rooms are fitted with panel heaters, en-suite bathrooms, verandahs and private braai areas, and all but one of the several cottages is self-catering.

Guest lounge containing a fully licensed bar and games such as pool, darts, table football, chess and a wide variety of board games is available

Wild berry has extended the property, adding most of the cottages, a social centre with TV, games and an honesty bar stocked with drinks and snacks, an Art and Crafts Centre, and an Education/Conference venue where 20 delegates could be comfortably seated (though our maximum guest capacity is 18 – should all beds and bunks be taken in to account). We use borehole water, and are licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.
