Nestled in the heart of the Kwazulu Natal Midlands, this 50 acre private dam, and the surrounding wetland area, is home to hundreds of beautiful bird species, and for those fly-fishermen/women it’s stocked with large brown and rainbow trout!
The Boat House (self-catering) and The Manor House (bed & breakfast) are both elegantly, appropriately and comfortably furnished.
Beacon Vlei Guest Farm is a family friendly establishment centrally located on the famed Midlands Meander, and only 1 km from Michaelhouse School. The Midlands Meander offers visitors an abundance of art and craft shops. There are also many fine restaurants, delicatessens and cheese farms in the Balgowan district, within 3 to 5 km of Beacon Vlei.
The Boathouse is large 4 sleeper thatch cottage situated just 10 meters from the edge of our 23 hectare private dam. The cottage consists of a king bedroom en suite which has panoramic views over the dam. It has a fully equipped kitchen, a large open plan living/ dining room which has a big Jetmaster fireplace and Dstv. In the corner of the living room there is an alcove which has 2 single beds and a second bathroom with a shower.
The cottage comes equipped with a braai.

Crane Cottage is a relatively newly built cottage, completed in 2008. It is a very large 6 sleeper Old Natal style cottage with a large veranda looking over our 23 hectare private dam. The cottage consists of two king bedrooms both en suite with showers, a very large open plan kitchen, dining room and living room. It has a large face brick fireplace, a double sleeper couch in the lounge and Dstv. It has two dining tables one inside and one outside on the veranda. It comes equipped with braai facilities.Crane Cottage:

Otter Cottage is the most recent addition to our beautiful establishment, completed in November 2011 it is a similar Old Natal style design to Crane Cottage except the bedrooms are on the sides of the cottage rather than on the back and it is a 4 sleeper cottage. The cottage consists of two king bedrooms both en suite, one of the bathrooms has a large walk in shower only whereas the other bathroom has a bath and separate walk in shower. The central room is an open plan kitchen, dining and living room which opens out onto the veranda looking over our 23 hectare private dam. The central room has a large fireplace and Dstv. The cottage comes equipped with braai facilities

Rose cottage is the smallest of our cottages; although it is ideally suited for 2 it can sleep 4 comfortably as it has 2 inter leading bedrooms and one en suite bathroom with a shower.
The cottage consists of two bedrooms, an open plan kitchen, dining and living room which open out onto a covered veranda. The cottage is set back 40 meters from the water and looks onto a private garden. The cottage comes equipped with braai facilities.

Heron Cottage:

The family suite is located in the Manor house; it is a B&B room which is ideally suited for a family of 4. It consists of two inter leading bedrooms separated by a door and one private bathroom which is situated just of the second room. The front room has a king sized bed and a bay window which looks over our 23 hectare private dam. The second room has views around the gardens and has 2 single beds. The room comes equipped with a small bar fridge and Tea & coffee making facilities.
