Kamberg Nature Reserve is a delightful camp within the uKhahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site.
Kamberg has excellent seasonal trout-fishing in the river and all -year-round fly-fishing in its dams. Accommodation is in, 1 x 6-sleeper and 15 small 2-bed self catering chalets with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom en suite. Braai Facilities available.
Set in the idyllic surroundings of Kamberg Nature Reserve in the Ukhahlamba-Drakensberg park is the Game Pass Shelter, site of the world’s finest rock art. Take the guided trail at 8.30am, 11am or 12.30pm to marvel at the paintings and visit the interpretive centre for a spectacular film on the history of the San in this park.
To view the rock art at Kamberg you have to go with a guide, they are available from 09h0; 11h00 & 12h30. The whole excursion will take about 3 hours as you are given a brief audio-visual presentation and then take on a hike to the shelter, the guide then gives you a brief overview of the paintings and you hike down again.
