Millgate Cottages are situated amid beautiful countryside just off the R103, between Mooi River and Howick.
Conveniently located for all private schools in the area, and only 5km from Michaelhouse School
The Mole, an atmospheric English-style pub, offering a selection of drinks and good food, which can be enjoyed indoors or in our garden. Darts, pool tables and satellite TV are available.
The Glass Studio, including shop, features an array of sandblasted and kiln-formed glass objects, which can be personalized on request. Wooden toys, clothing, jewellery, bric-a-brac and dog accessories are also available at the shop.
The Art Gallery, featuring a selection of fine art by resident and local artists.
Putt-Putt, nine hole putt-putt course in the beautiful garden surrounding The Mole, where children and their parents can test their golfing skills.
Millgate Cottage accepts one night booking except during, or adjacent to, public holidays and the Christmas period.
SELF-CATERING COTTAGES
Millgate’s two self-catering cottages have heating, fan, full-size stove, microwave, freezer/fridge, crockery and cutlery, linen, modern kitchens, braai facilities and DSTV (selected channels).
Cottage 1 – one bedroom, one bathroom. When using the double sleeper couch it sleeps four.
Cottage 2 – two bedrooms, separate bathroom and toilet. When using the double sleeper couch sleeps six
The two self Catering units have electric heaters, fans, hot plates, microwave, fridge, crockery, linen, braai facilities and DSTV (selected channels).
Lulworth Cove – Bed bed-sitting room, en-suite bathroom, kitchen and breakfast nook – sleeps two.
Kimmeridge – One bedroom, one bed-sitting room complete with kitchenette one bathroom. When using the double sleeper couch it sleeps three.
Durdle Door has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, fridge, microwave, tea and coffee-making facilities, DSTV (selected channels).
By prior arrangement, an extra bed can be added to any of our accommodation units.
FARMHOUSE
Millgate’s rustic farmhouse has been divided into two sections,
each with four rooms and one bathroom, and each capable of sleeping six when using the double the sleeper couch.
Each has a full-size stove, microwave, freezer/fridge,
crockery and cutlery, linen, modern kitchens, braai facilities
and DSTV (selected channels).
Each section has one bathroom.
Farmhouse 1 has two bedrooms each with twin beds, a large kitchen/dining room, TV room and one bathroom. With additional beds it can accommodate up to six people, and let to a14-IMG_4678 minimum of three or the equivalent rate.
Farmhouse 1 overlooks Millgate Cottage’s large circular garden complete with fish pond. The beds are planted with a variety of roses, indigenous and garden flowers as well as aromatic herbs.
Farmhouse 2 has two bedrooms each with twin beds, a large lounge/TV room with 2 double sleeper couch one of which can be moved to an inner room is preferred. The small kitchen is adjacent to the dining room which has a wood-burning fireplace. It has one bathroom. It can accommodate up to eight people (up to 10 with additional beds) let to a minimum of four or the equivalent rate.
Farmhouse 2 overlooks lush farmlands rising steeply rising in the distance towards the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains that can be enjoyed from the roofed patio with its own bar Counter
Minimum booking 3 people or R1080 per night.
By prior arrangement, an extra bed can be added to any of our accommodation units.

Outside Extras.
Residents have free use of our nine-hole mini golf course. While wandering through our gardens, guests can take the stairway up into our forest where views are even more spectacular than at ground level.
Inside Extras.
Our pub, The Mole has free WI-FI for its guests and DSTV. The pool table and darts board are available to guests and their friends when the pub is open or by prior arrangement. As well as serving typical beverages, The Mole specializes in craft beers.

Millgate Cottage is a three/four star standard,self-catering, self-service establishment, not a hotel offering 24-hour reception, room service or a daily cleaning service. Guests staying multiple nights will have their rooms fully serviced and linen changed every three days. Daily servicing may be arranged with Jeanat R50 per hour.
Book-in must take place before 5pm when our staff depart for the day. Alternative arrangement may be made with Jean well in advance. Rooms are to be vacated by 11am on the day of departure.
