The Lodge @ Curry’s Post, comprises of a the main lodge which offers 4 suites as well as three separate suites.  The main lodge can also be used as self catering accommodation for group bookings and is located in the heart of the majestic Kwazulu Natal Midlands and is conveniently situated close to many top wedding venues. We are next door to Cranford Country Lodge and 1.2 km`s from Old Halliwell Inn. We provide individual rooms as well as self catering accommodation.

The 40-hectare farm is located a-top a hill, surrounded by pine and gum plantations, as well as natural forests, with sweeping and breath taking 180-degree views of the Karkloof mountains and valley and lies at an altitude of 1500m.

Situated in the Curry’s Post area, between Mooi River and Howick, The Lodge @ Curry’s Post is a destination where old time service and values predominate for the discerning guest whether on holiday, attending a business conference or enjoying a memorable wedding stay.

Four luxury en-suite double bedrooms

Each room has an en-suite bathroom with shower. The bedrooms have supreme queen size beds, white linen and duvets for superior comfort and exceptionally high room standard

A luxury Family suite comprised of two large double bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms.  The main bedroom has a supreme queen size bed and the second room has two 3-quarter size beds.  Each room has white linen and duvets for superior comfort providing an exceptionally high room standard.

This is a large double room   with two three quarter beds and a full en-suite bathroom

The beds have white linen and duvets for superior comfort, providing a warm ambience and exceptionally high room standard. This room has a private external door leading to a small garden

On the farm and within the plantations – Wild antelope are often sited – mainly duiker, bushbuck, reedbuck and the occasional bush pig can be seen. Over 100 species of bird found on the farm.

On the farm and in the timber plantations.

Trout fishing
On the farm enjoy fly fishing in our peaceful and tranquil surroundings

Family Suites (3 suites) : R550 pp per night including breakfast

Honeymoon Suite (1 suite) : R600 pp per night including breakfast

Twin Suite (1 suite) : R350 pp per night including breakfast

Please note that all the facilities below do not take place at The Lodge.

The Lodge is well located amidst numerous well appointed golf clubs – Boschoek, Howick Golf Club, Mooi River Golf Club, Sakabula Golf Club and a number of other in the Pietermaritzburg area.

Nature Reserves
Only a short distance from The Lodge, are a number of Nature Reserves, which can be traversed by vehicle or on foot. Umgeni, Midmar, Karkloof, Kamberg, Loteni, and a short drive away Weenen.

Water sports
We are close to Midmar  and Albert Falls Dam’s, which provide unbeatable facilities for yachting, water skiing, paddling and other water sports, the most famous being the annual Midmar Mile in February of each year.

History & Culture, Excursions & Trips

The Howick, Karkloof and Nottingham Road areas provide numerous historical and cultural sites for those people interested in browsing through museums, viewing famous waterfalls and historical buildings. A little further a-field toward Escourt and Ladysmith (40 min drive) one can spend the day touring the historic Battlefield Route.

Micro light and helicopter trips
Trips can be arranged from either the airfield at The Lodge or alternatively from the Howick Airfield.

Canopy Adventures
An exhilarating 3-hour canopy adventure over the roof of the Karkloof forests can be arranged.
